Sundays have become one of the hardest working days of the week. The responsibilities we have to the Church services sometimes become more of a burden rather than a blessing. Greeters, teachers, nursery workers, orchestra, choir, audio/visual, tellers, security and records keeping all have to go on in order to keep the service and small group studies going. These things don't happen by themselves, so we get volunteers and/or hire folks to accomplish this work. I have often wondered what the Lord had truly intend "His Day" to be. So, I am starting a journey into His Word to see just that; "What Sundays should be". If you have any suggestions as to where to look or would care to join me on this journey, please feel free to blog along.

The first Question that must be resolved is "What day of the week are we talking about?"
ReplyDeleteSo, Seven Day Adventist seem to have a lock on this, so where are they coming from?
I found this from Stephen Korsman, a self described "Catholic interested in defending his faith against the attacks of Adventism and other anti-Catholic religions." http://www.theotokos.co.za/adventism/sabbathinot.html
Pretty interesting, he defines the fact that Sunday is the Christian Holy Day (First day of the week) fairly well. I will research the text as well and see if I concur.
