Revive Me
Ok. I'm going to be honest. Week Two was brutal for me. I found out I was a wanderer, neglectful of the word, deceitful, forgetful and a clinger (of vanities). Every day my study ended with the prayer O, Lord be merciful to me, please revive me according to your word. Anybody? I want more than anything to have the passion of the psalmist. What would it be like to delight in His statutes, to rejoice in His testimonies, to long after His ordinances? You know, kind of like how I feel about getting Janet Evanovich's newest book, Finger Lickin' Fifteen. (Is that sacrilegious to mention her in our Bible Study blog? sorry) I want to have that kind of anticipation for what God's word has to say to me. So, I've decided to pray God's word. I think the psalmist speaks to the heart of my need, and he does it much more eloquently than I can: "Open my eyes, that I may behold wonderful things from your law; Make me understand the way of your precepts so I will meditate on Your wonders, Remove the false way from me and graciously grant me your law; I shall run the way of Your commandments for You will enlarge my heart." And Lord, please revive me according to your word. Jane
